The Governor has issued guidance which allows school boards to modify how we conduct school business and also suspends the open meetings law:
Executive Order 202.1 Suspension of law allowing the attendance of meetings telephonically or other similar service:
Article 7 of the Public Officers Law, to the extent necessary to permit any public body to meet and take such actions authorized by the law without permitting in public in-person access to meetings and authorizing such meetings to be held remotely by conference call or similar service, provided that the public has the ability to view or listen to such proceeding and that such meetings are recorded and later transcribed;
In an effort to adhere to the social distancing guidance and comply with the modifications above, the Board of Education will hold its meetings utilizing the following protocols:
Public Comment: We encourage you to use this form OR by emailing the Board at BOE@brewsterschools.org any time prior to the start of the meeting with any questions or comments you may have. Comments shared in advance will be addressed during the indicated portion of the meeting’s agenda. There will be an opportunity to speak during the public comment period of the meeting. Members of the public will be asked to indicate to the host that you would like to speak and your mic will be unmuted for you to share your comments up to the 3 minute limit. The public may send follow up meeting comments or questions to BOE@brewsterschools.org. All meetings will continue to be recorded for future viewing through our District website.
